ERROR MESSAGE: "Cannot Home - Motor Error: Unknown 0"

The following videos are troubleshooting steps to help solve the error message.

1. Check the field settings

3. Checking for a bad motor

This video checks for a possible bad motor (Make sure to turn off the power to the machine before starting). First check the movement of the head on the X and Y axis. If the head does not move freely, you could have a bad motor. Second, check the impedance of the motor by using a digital ohm meter on the X and Y switches. You should get a reading of 3-6 ohms. Anything above or below that means you have a bad motor.

 

4. Check the cables between the Control Board and Marking Head

This video demonstrates how to check the wiring from the control board, through the cable, to the marking head, harness and motors. You will need to remove the top panel from your controller and have a digital volt meter available.

 

ERROR MESSAGE: "STYLEWRITE: Can't Open '\\.\STYLEUSB1 No Device attached"

1. Check the fuse on back of the controller.

If you discover you have a bad fuse, replace it with a new 3-amp fuse. Restart Stylewrite and see if the error message is gone.

 

2. Check the LED on the control board.

Is the D12 LED blinking 1 time per second when the board is not connected to the PC? And is it blinking 2 times per second when the board is connected to the PC? If you are not getting a blinking LED, then you'll need to check the main control board.

 

3. Check power to the main control board using a digital ohm meter at terminals 3 and 4 on the connector J1.

If no voltage is reading, you could have a bad transformer or bad wiring. The last thing you'll want to check is if the drivers are installed properly.

 

4. Check if drivers are installed properly.

If you fine the drivers for the USB.net device are not working properly in the device manager, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the Stylewrite software.

Software Tech Support Videos

Check if drivers are installed properly.

If you find the drivers for the USB.net device are not working properly in the device manager, you will need to uninstall and re-download the Stylewrite software.
