Automated Nameplate Engraving Machine
AUTOMATION FOR HANDS-FREE NAMEPLATE MARKING
For fully automated, hands-free nameplate marking, our laser engraving, pin marking, and scribe marking machines can be equipped with a tag shuttle feed or pick-and-place system.
Our shuttle feeds and pick-and-place systems provide many benefits:
- increase production
- improve process control
- significantly reduce lead time
- accommodate a wide range of nameplate sizes (including custom sizes)
- give you the freedom to reallocate manpower while increasing throughput
Whether the data being marked is repetitive or continuously changing, our machine software allows for easy programming. Capable of engraving date codes, serial numbers, 2D data matrices, 2D barcodes, logos, or any sequence of characters and numbers, the software is designed to fit your nameplate marking application. Data can be manually entered, scanned from a barcode, or pulled in from your mainframe database.

NAMEPLATE SHUTTLEFEED SYSTEMS
Our automated nameplate shuttlefeeds can be attached to our laser marking, scribe marking, and pin marking machines. The magazine stack holds dozens of nameplates on one end and shuttles a single nameplate into the marking field where it is marked. After the mark is complete, the nameplate tag is pushed out of the marking field while the next nameplate is shuttled in from the magazine.
Tag Size Adjustability:
The front and back bottom rails are adjustable, as well as, the magazine stack guides, to accept a wide range of tag sizes. A measurement guide is engraved into the base to make perfect adjustments each time.
Name Plate Tag Requirements:
- Minimum Nameplate Size: 0.5” x 1”
- Maximum Nameplate Size: 4” x 6.5” (Laser with 254 Lens) and 4" x 4" (Pin Markers)
- Minimum Nameplate Thickness: 0.020” for aluminum and 0.018” for stainless steel
- Maximum Nameplate Thickness: 0.125”
- Flatness of +/-0.003” thousands & 0.006” thousands overall
- Tag size (Length x Width) +/- 0.010” thousands 0.020” thousands overall
If your nameplates or tags fall outside of these requirements, our shuttle feed systems can be custom designed.
PICK-AND-PLACE
Our pick and place systems can be installed on our laser marking and pin marking machines. These systems automate the process of picking up your tags and placing them in the marking field. After the mark is complete, the system pushes the marked nameplate out of the marking field, then picks up the next nameplate to be marked. Automating this process helps to increase production rates while freeing up operators to focus on more complex work.
The pick and place systems can be designed to choose from several different stacked nameplates or select tags from a single location. These machines are built to fit your specific nameplate marking application requirements.
