Machine Style
GT SCHMIDT manufactures a variety of machine style type holders and die holders for use in press marking and roll marking applications.
Our machine style type holders accommodate all our straight, round, and wedge style steel type.
GT SCHMIDT machines use t-bolt and dove-style die holders for flat and rectangular marking dies, as well as knurl support carriages for round solid lettering knurls.
Machine style type holders and die holders are made from selected tool steel and carefully heat treated to provide rugged quality construction with uniform impressions.
STRAIGHT TYPE HOLDER
Straight type holders are for use in GT SCHMIDT roll marking machines. Straight type or logotype are easily changed by removing the locking pin. Several sizes are in stock in both t-slot and dovetail mounts. Contact us to order at 847-647-7117.

Model S Type Holder
Used for multiple character stamping with frequent setup changes. These type holders plus GT SCHMIDT's standard straight groove type can be used in our press marking machines. A locking pin holds the type in place and prevents setting type upside down. Standard shank is 1” diameter x 2” long, with a whistle notch toward the groove in the type. Special shank sizes are also available.

Straight Die Holder
Used in roll marking applications, these straight die holders are made to hold solid engraved dies and are available in both t-slot and dove tail mounts.
Roller Bearing Cradle
Roller bearing cradles are fixtures that can be mounted on the tables of roll markers to support and locate solid round parts or heavy walled tubing for peripheral marking.
Parts are loaded on these fixtures manually and peripheral impressions are made using flat stamps or straight type holders mounted in a machine slide. Stamps roll over the periphery of the part causing it to rotate while marking. Standard cradles are carried in stock; custom cradles designed according to your specs are made to order.
ROUND TYPE HOLDER
GT SCHMIDT offers several round type holders for use with our round knurl groove type. Whether a single row or several rows of type is required for your mark, we can manufacture the holder you require for your application. This style of round type holder is for use in a roll marking machine and require a knurl support carriage.

KNURL SUPPORT CARRIAGE
Knurl support carriages are designed to hold and support round type holders and solid lettering knurls. The carriage is mounted to the machine die slide for roll marking flat parts. Several sizes are available in stock in both t-slot and dovetail mounts.

CONCAVE TYPE HOLDERS
GT SCHMIDT manufactures concave type holders for use in our rotary roll marking machines for marking on the periphery of round cylindrical parts. The recess accommodates our wedge type. Rotary roll marking machines are ideal for high speed, high production marking on the periphery of relatively small round parts. Application examples include sockets, welding tips, screws, drills, rods and more.
