Maintaining Your GeoMARK Laser

Whether you have one of our GeoMARK Pro or GeoMARK Eco laser marking machines, regular maintenance is important to keeping it in good condition. These simple maintenance steps below will help you avoid down time and keep your laser running smoothly and marking consistently.

USE A FUME EXTRACTOR

Fume extractors are important for maintenance and safety. Run a fume extractor every time you use your laser marking machine to protect operators and the laser from fumes, dust, and debris. Replace the filter as needed.

WIPE DOWN SURFACES

Even when using a fume extractor, dust and debris can collect around your laser marking machine. Wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth to keep your laser system and the parts you’re marking clean.

CHECK YOUR CABLES

Make sure all your cables are properly connected. If your laser marking system is on a cart, make sure that all the cables, including your air line, are not in the way of your cart’s wheels as it moves.

CLEAN YOUR LENS

Clean your lens and avoid touching it directly with fingers or dirty rags. We recommend using disposable Kimwipes along with Purosol Optical Cleaner spray, though any optical cleaning solution made of at least 99% alcohol is fine. Avoid water, “anti-fog” cleaners, and solutions containing silicon.

KEEP YOUR AIR CLEAN

Our GeoMARK Pro series feature power doors that require an air line to open and close. Keep your air line clean and dry to prevent any issues. Inspect your GeoMARK Pro’s air regulator regularly: if you see dirt or water in the regulator, you’ll need to clean out your air line.
