Laser Etching on Anodized Aluminum
GT SCHMIDT lasers are capable of different laser marking processes including laser engraving and annealing. In this video, we demonstrate laser etching, also known as laser ablation. Laser etching differs from laser engraving in the amount of material that is removed during the marking process. When laser engraving, the laser removes the material of the part being marked in order to make a deep mark. Laser etching only removes the coating of the part or, if there is no coating, the laser will remove an extremely thing layer from the surface of the part.
