As you have no doubt heard, Illinois has issued a shelter-in-place directive to its residents to slow the spread of COVID-19. Thus far, this directive has exempted workforces supplying to essential businesses and critical infrastructure sectors, including medical, military, aerospace, pharma, food service, etc.
“If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.” (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, March 19, 2020)
Given the involvement SCHMIDT and Precise Machine Company (a division of SCHMIDT) have in these sectors, we are remaining open to ensure the continuity of the supply chain to our customers and their operations during this critical time.
At the forefront of every decision we make is the health and safety of our employees. We will continue to practice all recommended measures to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. If anything should change as to our capabilities to operate, we will alert our customers immediately. We will also post any updates here in the News section of our website.
