The
holders illustrated on this page are examples of the many
types produced for marking gears, cutters, pulleys, bushings
and similar parts. Some holders can be incorporated directly
into the customer's production equipment. As specialists
in the marking field, we are ready and able to discuss
you marking requirements.
Schmidt radial type holders are machined from
tool steel and heat treated to our exact specifications,
in-house, using proprietary heat treating methods.
When to use radial type or radial logotype..
Radial step type is used when the entire legend
(reading) changes. Logotype is used when part of the reading
remains constant.
Hand Style Radial Type Holders
A hand style radial type holder is most often
used to mark gear blanks. A pilot is provided to
guide the type holder into position. This ensures accurate
placement of the radial mark around the bore of the gear.
A retaining plug with a socket head cap screw holds the
radial step type in position.
Machine Style Radial Type Holders
Radial type holders are equipped with a shank
are designed for mounting in a press. The radial step type
or
logotype are held in position with a retaining plug and a
socket head cap screw. The spacer ring may have more than
one recess to position the mark in accordance with the specifications.
Special Holders
All radial type holders are made to order.
If you would like pricing and availability, please send a
piece part print of the part to be marked in the "as
marked"
condition, along with the readings and character sizes.
