Hydraulic Roll Marking Machine Information
Many part marking applications require the additional power and force of a fully hydraulic marking system. Schmidt hydraulic roll markers provide a maximum of 14 tons of marking force and up to 30 tons in highly specialized applications.
Automated Hydraulic Roll Marker - Model 175 & 575
For over 65 years, the Schmidt 175 and 575 hydraulic roll marking machines have been the industry standard for heavy duty numbering, lettering, and knurling for applications from in-line marking of sockets, hand tools, and bearings to automated marking of shock absorbers.
These hydraulic roll markers can can be configured with part feeding systems to feed and discharge a wide array of production parts. They can operate as roll markers or provide press marking action. The microprocessor controlled Schmidt 175-MPC offers a new level of precision, with up to 14,000 lbs. of marking pressure. The 575 model features the same advanced design as the 175, but provides twice as much power, up to 28,000 lbs. of marking pressure.
In-line Production Hydraulic Roll Markers - Model 377,477,577's
These hydraulic roll marking units can be mounted and installed vertically, horizontally, or upside down for production line operation. These versatile heads, with respective tonnages comparable to the 175-MPC, and 575-MPC models, permit a multitude of production line benefits.
The smallest unit is the Model 377, which generates up to 8,000 lbs. of marking pressure. The standard unit has a 1" ram stroke and a maximum 3-1/2" cross stroke. The Model 477 generates up to 12,000 lbs. of marking pressure with a standard 1" ram stroke and a maximum 7" cross stroke. The largest unit is the Model 577, which generates up to 24,000 lbs. of marking pressure with a standard 1" ram stroke and 7" cross slide stroke.
Hydraulic Roll Marking Fixturing & Tooling
Tooling and fixturing for either roll or press marking is available in most cases from stock at Schmidt, custom options available. To roll mark round parts a roller bearing cradle and a straight type holder are necessary. To roll mark flat parts a round type holder and support carriage is required.
Pneumatic Roll Marking Machines
For marking flat or round parts with minimal tonnage requirements.
Rotary Roll Marking Machines
For the high speed, high production marking on the periphery of round cylindrical parts.

Roller Bearing Cradle:Roller bearing cradles are fixtures that can be mounted on the tables of roll markers to support and locate solid round parts or heavy walled tubing for peripheral marking. Parts are loaded on these fixtures manually, and peripheral impressions are made using flat dies or straight type holders mounted in a machine slide. Dies roll over the periphery of the part causing it to rotate while marking. Standard cradles are carried in stock. Special Cradles: We also make custom cradles to your specs. |

Stud Arbor Fixture:Hollow round parts often are supported on arbors for marking. Plain Stud Arbor Table Fixtures are suitable where marking may appear at any point on the periphery. When a range of sizes needs to be marked, interchangeable stud arbors can be furnished for the same fixture base. A Spring Return Type Arbor is required for marking at the same starting point for each part. The spring return feature allows the stud arbor to return to its correct starting position after each marking cycle. |
