Schmidt manufactures a variety of squeeze action press markers that offer a gentler marking action when closer control of stamping pressure is desired.
Squeeze Action Press Marking Benefits
Schmidt's squeeze action presses, with 5 to 15 tons of marking pressure, eliminate impact and reduce noise. By comparison to impact presses, these units are dramatically gentler for both the parts being marked and the tooling in the machine. There is no impact, no bounce, and no repercussion as the marking pressure is delivered in a straight, smooth squeeze.
Schmidt's Available Squeeze Action Presses
Schmidt offers two styles of squeeze action presses, the pneumatic Model A/O (air over oil) and the bench style Model 450. Our Model A/O (Air over Oil) marking press combines both pneumatic and hydraulic pressure to create an impact and squeeze action press all in one. These systems are available in 6 or 10 tons. The Model 450 is a more heavy duty pneumatic press and is available in four sizes.

Model 450 Squeeze Action Press Marker
Schmidt offers the bench-style Model 450 in four sizes. These heavy duty pneumatic presses deliver uniform pressure regardless of variations in the thickness of parts being marked, and the stroke is adjustable.

Model 10 Numbering HeadThe industry standard for manual & automatic numbering. Used in press markers or roll markers to indent consecutive numbers in metal and other materials. Standard heads have 5-7 wheels, and character sizes 3/32" to 1/8".

Shank Style Radial Type HolderThe radial type holder is equipped with a shank for mounting in any press machine. Radial step type and logotype are held in position with a retaining plug and a socket head cap screw. The spacer ring may have more than one recess to position the marking in accordance with specifications. |

Shank Style Marking Dies - Rectangular or RoundSchmidt offers a variety of shank style dies, available in both rectangular or round. The shank size and lengths are machined to suit the ram of the press and the application. Radially engraved shank style dies are also available for use in a press when a radial impression is desired on a flat surface. |
Part Feeding & Fixturing
Our impact markers and squeeze action presses can be equipped with automatic feeding systems that include bowl feeders, stackers and rotary dials. Fixturing is available on all Schmidt press marking systems.
The Model 450 pictured here is marking valves equipped with a rotary dial part feeding system.

Model A/O 10 (air-over-oil) squeeze action press marking videoThis video shows the Model A/O10 being used to mark steel inserts in an automated application. The parts are introduced into the marking area by means of an air operated pusher being fed by a vibratory bowl feed system.
