Styliner® Mark3® and Mark4® Pin Marking Systems

Engineering and Machine Capabilities

The Styliner® Mark3® and Mark4® dot peen marking systems are fully programmable with a wide range of capabilities. The Mark3 and Mark4 dot peen pin markers can function as semi-automatic, (operator hand loads/unloads parts into the marking area), or they can be fully automated with a part feeding/material handling system, eliminating the need for operator interface. The standard Mark3® and Mark4® dot peen stylus pin is pneumatic in operation.  Schmidt also offers an electric operating model as an option. The marking speed of all our dot peen markers is variable and can be increased for high speed, high productivity part marking, or reduced for a fine quality continuous line appearance, suitable for finished parts.  All systems include the capability of repeat marking of the same part, for increased mark depth.

The Styliner® Mark3® and Mark4® pin marking systems are 4 axis capable. The marking machines incorporate “Z” axis capability, for marking depth adjustability, and part height variance.  The “Z” axis can be manual or automatic in operation. The Styliner® series is also available in portable hand held and separate marking heads for integration.

Mark3® and Mark4® Marking Capabilities

Schmidt's Mark3® and Mark4® dot peen marking systems can mark 2d data matrix, 2d barcodes, automatic date codes, sequential serial numbers, logos, or any identification mark on your parts, sub-assemblies and finished products in accordance with ISO certification guidelines. 

With our knowledge, expertise, and in-house engineering capabilities, we can provide an integrated system of 2d part marking, reading, and verifying based on your specific requirements and in compliance with AIM DPM quality and ISO certification guidelines. Schmidt is also proudly FFL licensed.

Styliner Pin Marking Custom Applications

Firearm Part Marking: A manufacturer of firearms required human readable text and 2D data matrix symbols to be marked into their firearm receivers prior to assembly.

Oil Field Part Marking: Schmidt developed a one-of-a-kind adjustable, programmable, 3-headed Styliner® pin marking station.

Multiple size drill bits: Schmidt builds a custom Styliner® pin marking station to handle and mark multiple size oil field drill bits.

  • All shuttle feed systems are built standard to accommodate nameplates with a minimum thickness of .020". Nameplate sizes can range from 1/2" wide by 1" long up to 4" x 4". For larger nameplates, custom shuttle feeds are available.

Software for Pin Marking Systems

Communications for the Styliner® Mark3 and Mark4 marking systems are interfaced with a robust, stable and very flexible software package. The StyleWrite for Windows software is available with 2D barcode, 2D data matrix capability enabled as an option.

Schmidt's Style40 DOS software is now being upgraded to StyleWrite for Windows. If you are currently running the DOS software and would like to discuss your upgrade options,please contact your local Schmidt product specialits.

Dot Peen Pin Marking System Controls

Controls for the Styliner® Mark3 and Mark4 marking systems are available in different configurations to accommodate a variety of machine requirements. The MS WinXPe controls, pictured here, combines Schmidt machine controls and a self contained pc with Windows XP embedded on a flash card aboard the pc.
