Resources for Nameplates, Dog Tags, Pet ID Tags, etc.
shown from top to bottom: Scribeliner for marking automotive truck frames, model 4 nameplate detail press, MicroLase laser marking system, model 175-MPC roll marking machine and a Styliner hand held dot matrix marker.
While we manufacture the machines and dies to detail (mark) Nameplates, Dog Tags, Pet ID Tags, etc., we do not manufacture or sell the tags themselves.

However, we can offer several resources for those items.

These are sources that we have become familiar with through our many years in the marking industry. If you know of others, please send an email to web.master@gtschmidt.com for possible inclusion in this list.

Nameplates

The term nameplate can mean either a blank plate (tag) or a plate (tag) that has been screened or printed with information that does not change as well as blank spaces for the information that does change. Hence the "detail" in detail press.

The term dog tags can mean one of two things - a tag that you put on you dog so that when Fido gets out and rummages through the neighbor's trash, the pound knows who to call - or - Military type ID tags.

Dog Tags

The term "dog tags" can mean one of two things - a tag that you put on you dog so that when Fido gets out and rummages through the neighbor's trash, the pound knows who to call - or - Military type ID tags.

In this instance, we mean Military style tags (Fido sports a Pet ID tag).

Dog Tags are available in many colors, styles and materials (authentic Military tags would be made from stainless steel and would have rolled edges).

For authentic military dog tags, there is only one source - it will require commitment, but the tags come with an unbelievable travel package, as well as a decent clothing allowance, neck chain and tag silencers. Follow this link to view the requirements.

Pet ID Tags

Pet ID tags usually have a hole or holes for attaching to a pets' collar, either by means of a split ring, "S" hook, or rivets. The tags come in many sizes, shapes, colors and materials.

The model 4 and 6 nameplate detail presses are used to mark almost all commonly available tags, the exception being laminated plastic tags which are usually cut on an engraving machine.
