Save Time and Money

Even if you only produce a few nameplates a day, these machines can help by reducing the inventory of marked nameplates or ID tags.

Your customers will appreciate the legibility and uniformity of the plates

or tags marked on these machines. Plates and tags are easy to read, with lettering evenly spaced, accurately aligned and uniformly deep.

The press is comfortable to operate, almost effortless, and may be operated from either a standing or sitting position.

No special skills are required to turn out great looking, legible valve tags, dog tags or nameplates after only a few minutes of instruction and a couple of sample tags.

They are so simple, anyone can master the four-step operation:

1. Adjust depth and alignment settings.
2. Position a nameplate on the table.
3. Select the desired character (letter or number).
4. Make the mark with one short lever stroke - the table advances automatically for the next character when the operator returns the handle.

Specifications

The Model 4 and 6 are virtually identical except the smaller Model 4 accepts plates up to 4" deep, while the larger Model 6 can handle plates up to 8" deep.

Character Spacing

Each letter or figure occupies a space as wide as it is high.

Fractions (1/2, 1/4, etc.) are made with the characters in line - not above one another and occupy space equal to equal to letters or figures of the same character size.

For example, 1/8" characters are spaced 8 to the inch. Marking the word "TEMPERED" using an 1/8" character dial would occupy one inch.
The same reading in 3/32" characters would yield a mark 3/4" of an inch long.

Dial Information

Dials are engraved with 40 characters - A through Z (upper case), 0 through 9, slash (/), dash (-), period (.) and an ampersand (&).

Sharp face dials can be used on all materials - steel, brass, stainless steel*, aluminum, plastic, etc. The sharp face characters penetrate the nameplate material more easily than the flat face.

Flat face dials are used on brass, aluminum and plastic. Creates a wider impression. Use this character face when the impressions are to be color-filled (lacquer-stick or wax crayon).

If nameplates are to be marked within 3/8" of the top edge, if the shape is not square or rectangular or if you are marking dog tags or pet ID tags, a special fixture or "nest" may be necessary.

*GTS does not recommend the use of character sizes larger than 1/8" on stainless steel - while the dial is quite capable of creating an impression in this material, the pressure required to mark larger characters may cause the ram to deflect resulting in incomplete characters.
